dc.description.abstractSe presenta una resumida información sobre distribución, capturas, tamaño de la población y estado de conservación de las 40 especies de cetáceos presentes en aguas jurisdiccionales de Chile. Se agrega la lista de esas especies, reunidas en 25 géneros y 8 familias, sobre las que se presentan los registros disponibles para los autores, incluyendo las capturas comerciales de algunas especies. Así también, se resume la Iegislación nacional sobre cetáceos y sus principales problemas de conservación. Los datos de los registros por especie y los respectivos créditos por observador, están siendo incorporados al Sistema de Datos Científicos Antárticos (SIDCA) del Instituto Antártico Chileno (lNACH). Los datos estarán disponibles vía Internet, una vez que la información haya sido analizada, procesada y publicada.es_ES
dc.description.abstractA summarized information on each of the 40 marine mammal species, which inhabit Chilean waters, their distribution, catch, population size, and conservation status. A list of those species, collected into 25 genera, and 8 families, on which records are available for the authors, including the commercial catch of some species. In the same manner, national legislation on cetaceans and their main conservation problems are presented in an abridged form. All data related to each record by species, and the respective credits by observer, are being stored and listed in the Scientific Antarctic Data System (SIDCA) of the Instituto Antartico Chileno (INACH). All data will be available by Internet once the respective information has been analized and published.es_ES
